In the application for the elderly, the biopsychosocial perspective broadens the observation field of operators from health conditions, often progressing towards chronicity and gradual deterioration, to other elements that can enable the elderly person to live independently in a dignified and satisfactory way. With multidimensional assessment, it is possible to identify social support needs to be addressed through targeted and personalized interventions based on the evidence gathered. These are observation tools that allow producing a Functioning Profile and comparing the effectiveness of interventions over time, involving the person themselves and their caregivers.
