COOKIES POLICY (last updated: 01/04/2020)
1. Definitions, characteristics, and application of the regulations.Cookies are small text files that websites visited by the user send and store on their computer or mobile device, to be then retransmitted to the same websites upon the next visit. Thanks to cookies, a website remembers the user’s actions and preferences (such as login data, chosen language, font size, display settings, etc.) so that they do not have to be re-entered when the user returns to the website or browses from one page to another. Cookies are thus used to perform computer authentications, session monitoring, and storage of information regarding the activities of users accessing a website. They may also contain a unique identification code that allows tracking the user's navigation within the site for statistical or advertising purposes. While browsing a website, users may also receive cookies on their computer or mobile device from sites or web servers other than the one they are visiting (so-called "third-party" cookies). Some operations could not be performed without the use of cookies, which in certain cases are therefore technically necessary for the very functioning of the website.
There are various types of cookies, depending on their characteristics and functions, and they can remain on the user's computer or mobile device for different periods: so-called session cookies, which are automatically deleted when the browser is closed, and so-called persistent cookies, which remain on the user’s device until a pre-set expiration date.
According to current Italian legislation, explicit user consent is not always required for the use of cookies. In particular, "technical cookies" do not require such consent — that is, those used solely for the purpose of transmitting a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by the user. In other words, these are cookies essential for the functioning of the site or necessary to carry out activities requested by the user.
Among the technical cookies that do not require express consent for their use, the Italian Data Protection Authority (see Provision "Identification of simplified methods for providing information and obtaining consent for the use of cookies" of May 8, 2014, hereinafter only "Provision") also includes:
- "analytics cookies" when used directly by the site administrator to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site,
- navigation or session cookies (for authentication),
- functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a series of selected criteria (e.g., language, selected products for purchase) in order to improve the service provided.
2. Types of cookies used by the Site and (de-)selection options
The Site uses the following cookies, which can be deselected, except for third-party cookies for which you must refer directly to their cookie selection and deselection procedures, indicated via links:
- Technical cookies — navigation or session cookies strictly necessary for the functioning of the Site or to allow the user to use the requested content and services.
- Analytics cookies, which help understand how the Site is used by users. These cookies do not collect information about the user’s identity or any personal data. The information is processed in aggregate and anonymous form.
- Functionality cookies, used to enable specific features of the Site and a set of selected criteria (e.g., language, selected products for purchase) to improve the service provided.
- Third-party cookies, i.e., cookies from websites or web servers other than the Administrator's, used for purposes of these third parties, including profiling cookies. Please note that these third parties, listed below with links to their privacy policies, are autonomous data controllers for the data collected via the cookies they serve. Therefore, you must refer to their personal data processing policies, privacy notices, and consent forms (cookie selection and deselection), as specified in the aforementioned Provision. For completeness, it should be noted that the Administrator does its utmost to track cookies on its own Site. These are regularly updated in the following table, where we provide transparency about the cookies directly sent by the Administrator and their purposes. As for third parties that send cookies through our Site, we provide below links to their privacy information: responsibility for providing the information and collecting user consent lies with those third parties, as already stated. This responsibility applies not only to cookies sent directly by third parties but also to any additional cookies sent through our Site by virtue of services used by the third parties themselves. Regarding such cookies, sent by service providers of said third parties, the Administrator has no control and is not aware of their characteristics or purposes.
WARNING: disabling technical and/or functionality cookies may result in the Site being unusable, or certain services or functions of the Site being unavailable or not functioning correctly. You may be required to change or manually enter some information or preferences each time you visit the Site.
3. Cookie settings
Below you can make a choice regarding the receipt of profiling cookies. Not authorizing profiling cookies will not affect the operation of the Site. You can block or delete (in whole or in part) technical and functionality cookies through your browser’s specific functions. However, please note that not authorizing technical cookies may make it impossible to use the Site, view its contents, and use its services. Disabling functionality cookies may result in certain services or functions being unavailable or not functioning properly, and you may have to modify or manually enter some information or preferences each time you visit the Site.
The choices you make regarding cookies on the Site will be recorded in a specific cookie. However, this cookie may not function properly in some circumstances: in such cases, we recommend deleting unwanted cookies and blocking their use via your browser’s features.
Your cookie preferences will need to be reset if you use different devices or browsers to access the Site.
How to view and modify cookies via your browser: you can select which proprietary cookies to authorize using the dedicated procedure on this page, as well as authorize, block, or delete (in whole or in part) cookies via your browser’s specific functions.
